You're 1-year old today, Policy 76/77 Path Forward!
According to FAUW, the Path Forward was “intended to lead to a resolution of all outstanding issues” and touted to have an “aggressive timeline to finally complete these much-needed updates to Policies 76 and 77 ”. https://uwaterloo.ca/faculty-association/news/whats-happening-policy-7677-revisions
To this day, the expected timeline for Policy 76/77 revisions is still posted on this website:
If you're losing track, the original proposal for the "Path Forward" is posted here:
The Path Forward was approved at Senate on October 17, 2022 with the motion:
"To approve the following membership on the Policy 76/Policy 77 Drafting Committee: Mary Hardy (statistics and actuarial science, FAUW appointee); Su-Yin Tan (geography and environmental management, FAUW appointee); Paul Wehr (psychology, FAUW appointee); David DeVidi (associate vice-president, academic, President’s appointee); Anna Esselment (political science, President’s appointee); and Ian VanderBurgh (mathematics, President’s appointee)."
One year later, the “Path Forward” is not anywhere close to what it was promised to be. Lecturers are so used to timelines turning from months into years and for agreed-upon deadlines with the Administration to be routinely ignored.
Wow, Path Forward, you're getting so big! But don't worry, you'll always be the little sibling to P76/77 redevelopment as a whole. I hear it's nearing its decade anniversary! I hope there will be cake.
